I am so proud to promote a young shipyard from Sardinia, named Cantiere Savona that will present its first 10-metre LUXI33, a hybrid solar powered boat, currently under construction in Ogliastra, on the Sardinian eastern coast. It is scheduled for launch this autumn. LUXI33 is made of eco-friendly materials and equipped with 10msq of solar panels located on the hard-top.
Cantiere Savona has been able to connect ‘technology with tradition to increase the eco-friendly philosophy in the yachting sector’.

The blog VirtualOpenUp is born to share and collect data and information about past and future projects, images and clips, made by Virtual Design Course students and according to OPEN SOURCE approach.
Student’s clips are inspired by the theme OPEN and made entirely in Blender, an Open Source Software.
On this blog you can download 3d models and references (all released in CC) of their works.
All the work takes part of our Master of Science thesis “Open Design Education. Open source and teaching experimentation in Ecodesign Master of Science of Polytechnic of Turin “. Download abstract

“Le Ort-ike” is a urban activism collective that deals with environmental issues. We promote “actions for a better city”, and we want to raise citizens awareness of the lack of land for gardening, through the teaching of growing vegetables on their own balcony or in shared spaces.
“L’Ort-o sul balcone” taught how to grow a balcony vegetable garden and took place on Sunday 3rd June 2012 in Turin, Oratorio San Filippo Neri Torino, Via Maria Vittoria 5.

“Arduino is a tool for making computers that can sense and control more of the physical world than your desktop computer. It’s an open-source physical computing platform based on a simple microcontroller board, and a development environment for writing software for the board”.
In this workshop we learned how to use Arduino to develop interactive objects, taking inputs from a variety of switches or sensors, and controlling a variety of lights, motors, and other physical outputs.

Sansovino Street 243/25g will be open from Tuesday to Saturday, 4.00 – 7.00 pm.
